What We Believe

...that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  Jesus voluntarily came to earth from heaven (God as man) to rescue fallen man from the just consequences of sin.  He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless live, and taught the will of His father.  He then offered Himself as the once-and-for-all sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was crucified, and died.  He was buried and, in three days, resurrected in victory over death, after which He ascended to heaven.

...that God is love and His love is unconditional and inescapable.

...that sin separates mankind from God and that Christ's sacrifice of Himself provided the only possible means for reconciliation between God and man.  Reconciliation occurs when a person confesses his/her sinfulness, acknowledged Christ as the divine Son of God, and receives Christ into his/her heart in an act of faith.

...That water baptism is the public witness of a new believer's confession of faith in Christ.

...That there is a Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

...That Christ's great commands, "...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like unto it.  Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself," (Matthew 22:37-40 KJV) provide the essential guiding principles for every Christian.

...that the Bible (the original texts) are the inerrant Word of God and that the New Testament (covenant) provides both faith imperatives and the operating framework for the church today.

...that following Jesus is a process of refinement.  No one is perfect and no one is sinless, but Christ loves us nonetheless.

...that Spiritual gifts operate in the church today and that every believer is gifted by God.

...that there will be a second coming of Christ, after which God will judge all mankind.

"This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."  1 John 4:10 NIV
